URL encode text

Prepare text with spaces, accents or symbols for links and query parameters.

Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you type or paste is sent to a server.

How to use the URL encode text

  1. 1

    Paste the text or URL.

  2. 2

    Choose “Parameter” or “Full URL”.

  3. 3

    Copy the encoded result.

About this tool

“Parameter” encodes every special character, ideal for values after ? or &. “Full URL” keeps : / ? & = so the link still works.

Accented characters are encoded as UTF-8, as modern browsers and servers expect.

Frequently asked questions

Why does a space become %20?

URLs can't contain spaces; %20 is its code. Forms sometimes use + instead.

How is it different from Base64?

URL encoding only changes disallowed characters; Base64 transforms the whole content.
